Forest Farming provides a unique approach for diversifying production opportunities for agricultural and forested landowners while maintaining a forest canopy for long term timber and other ecosystem services. This workshop provides an opportunity for technical service providers to learn first hand a unique strategy to help their clients enhance the economic viability of their woodlot. Quiet Creek Herb Farm and School of Country Living is a commercial producer of culinary and medicinal mushrooms under a hardwood canopy in western PA, providing an ideal location for learning mushroom ecology and production techniques from a diversified forest farming operation.
